North West Nave - Upper

This window contains a reference to mining as well as gardening, as in the roses. The other images such as the central sword, the owl and the rook plus the burning building are still awaiting interpretation. It reads - To the loving memory of John Stoker died 4th March 1982 given by his wife Nora. “The desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose “ It was designed by Sep Waugh, his second window in the church. He is one of the famous stained glass makers from York, who worked under Harry Harvey who produced the Sowers Window.
